Wandsworth Common
Playground
A proposal for a natural playscape for Wandsworth Council. Lady Allen Adventure Playground sits alongside the site. We wanted to take inspiration form some of her theories in play design - in particular her attitude to risk.
We wanted at the centre of the deign to be the highest possible (4m) free climb without barriers. This could be achieved with a web system of ropes that create a highly challenging risky climb but with an obstructed safe fall.
A live build pavilion project with Chelsea College of Arts Spatial Design students, installed at the Tate Britain.
Hanley House
2015
Over a twelve month period in Herefordshire, I trained under master carpenter Barry Mulford, gaining hands on experience in the conservation of 400 year-old timber frame buildings. The work focused on the careful restoration of historic oak structures, combining traditional mortise and tenon carpentry with contemporary conservation methods.
My role included precise timber patching, in-situ structural repairs, and the application of natural lime and clay plasters. Working across both workshop fabrication and on-site installation, the project developed a detailed understanding of heritage construction and long term timber conservation.
